|“||Meganeura is a monster dragonfly; queen of the Carboniferous skies.||”|
Physical appearance and biologyEdit
Meganeura was a giant dragonfly whose wingspan was almost a metre. It had powerful wings and a long tail. It had large, compound eyes and six strong legs. It was mostly green and yellow with its wings being a mix of transparency and red.
Behaviour and traitsEdit
Meganeura was a monster dragonfly the size of an eagle. It was an aerial predator which dominate its environment - the skies. Once it caught its prey, it would carry it to the forest canopy and would rest it on the top of a fern and would then persist in eating it.
In the event of a forest fire (which were common during the Carboniferous), Meganeura would haphazardly panic and scatter near water to help guard themselves from the fire. However, that would be risky as many aquatic predators like amphibians such as Proterogyrinus would take full advantage of the situation.
As the storm arrived, lots of Meganeura scattered close to the local lake. Unfortunately, several Proterogyrinus surged out of the water and snagged many of the dragonflies out of the air.
